Wynne MotorCoaches announces its three (3) year Green Initiative to become 100% Eco-Friendly with Alternate Fuels and Zero Emission Motorcoaches by September 2011.
In a move to improve both the environment and local transportation options, Wynne has announced in July of 2008, its three (3) year Green Initiative to become 100% Eco-Friendly through the use of Alternate Fuels and Zero Emission Motorcoaches by September 2011.
A central part of Wynne’s Green Initiative is Wynne’s Green Motorcoach Strategy. Wynne started with the purchase $2,500,000 six (6) Motor Coach Industries (MCI model D4505) for $2,500,000. The new 45 foot, low-emissions, motorcoaches were fitted with seat belted, to insure a higher level of passenger safety than required by the US Dot. These coaches were manufactured with the new engine technology that reduces particulate matter and are compliant with the US EPA’s 2010 fuels emissions standards. Wynne has taken possession of additional MCI coaches.
The other facet, and even more aggressive, of Wynne’s Green Initiative is to convert all of its sedans, vans, SUVs, Limousines, and Mini-Buses to operate on a combination of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Propane.
Joan Wynne, President/CEO said, “It is my responsibility to provide our clients, and our community with safe cleaner transportation. By September 2011, all of our vehicles will be more fuel-efficient, producing fewer emissions, less particulates and be far more eco-friendly than they are today.” Bedford Wynne, Director of Special Event Services said. Going Green like vehicle safety is not just talk, its commitment, hard dollar investments…. They must both become a way of life!”
